AnimVR is a VR animation and filmmaking tool developed by NVRMIND, a research lab co-founded by Milan Grajetzki and Dario Seyb. It enables creators to draw, animate, and produce 3D content entirely within virtual reality.
Key features include hand-drawn 3D animation with a built-in timeline, audio recording and editing, a digital steady-cam system for recording camera movements, and the ability to compile finished experiences into shareable executables without leaving VR.
AnimVR supports industry-standard formats: import from FBX, OBJ, glTF, and USD, and export to Alembic Cache and USD for integration with Maya, Houdini, and Blender pipelines. A dedicated Unity toolkit allows importing AnimVR stages directly into Unity projects.
